Mind the Mind
This soulful debut album produced and written by the Dutch electric duo: Yana Liza and Olivier de Jong (Kunuku) ‘Mind the mind’ is a diamond that they've been polishing for the past 3 years.

The process started when Yana expressed that she would like to produce her own music together with Kunuku, knowing each other for a long time.

This was the first time some asked Kunuku for his songwriting and producing skills since Kunuku is mainly known for his bass playing.
The writing process went really fast because the two were just building the music upon unconscious decisions.
Most of the songs came out of the necessity of expressing something.
That something is not always clear, but if you trust in yourself and listen to your unconsciousness you will find out what your mind is telling you.

The duo were inspired by artists such as Erykah Badu and Inflo (producer of Cleo Sol, SAULT & many others).
In the album, the duo jumps between different genres. It’s a soulful sound with touches of electronic pop and some funk sprinkled on top.

Yana Liza & Kunuku Amsterdam, Netherlands

Kunuku and Yana Liza got to know each other in Amsterdam around 10 years ago and by that time they started playing in a band. 5 Years after that band broke up Yana called Ollie to ask if he wanted to produce her album together with her. And after a couple of years of writing and producing they're finally ready to present their album "Mind the Mind".
